Meet Dr. Gareth Brancato

Dr. B, as he is known to his family of patients, graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. The doctor went on to pursue his Chiropractic education at Palmer College, started by the founder of Chiropractic. Dr. Brancato was initially inspired by Chiropractic’s science and philosophy when he was in college receiving care and experienced its healthful benefits firsthand. The emphasis on what contributes to making an individual well, from infancy to later life stages, compared to treating sickness, really resonated with him. A natural approach to caring for patients and guiding them toward a healthy lifestyle became his purpose. Also, as a former rugby player and a current competitive long distance runner, the doctor knows the importance of athletes getting adjusted for optimal performance and injury avoidance.

Dr. Brancato discovered the sport of rugby while enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport Iowa. Palmer had a tradition of cultivating champion caliber rugby teams allowing him to continue his love of physical culture, while providing the opportunity to gain experience in treating sports related injuries.

Dr.B continued playing rugby for many years, and served as President of the Long Island Rugby Club in the early 90’s. He is also an active contributor to the Palmer Old Boys Alumni rugby club. More recently the doctor shifted gears and embarked on his passionate relationship with running, eventually enabling him to become a marathon runner. He has since completed numerous Half and Full marathons, including the Boston, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia marathons. He is a long standing member of the NHP-Mineola Runner’s Club. The doctor is well experienced in helping runners maintain peak performance.

Dr. Brancato has been in Garden City serving families in the community since 1985. He has been married for 30 years and has two grown children living in Washington DC and Texas.
